Dilly has a denim blue background and yellow brown flowers. Little Shrew has a flower motif in ochre, blue and red. These block prints are quilted with straight lines every 1cm. god, this book was so refreshing! as i’m sure any sapphic book enthusiast who also shares a love for women’s soccer (sorry, i’m american) would agree! it was incredibly well-written and teeming with swoon-worthy moments as well as plenty of wonderfully accurate depictions of the women’s game. and i have to say, as a USWNT and arsenal fan, the fact that this book and its characters had me rooting for england and a london-based team that weren’t my gunners is just a testament to how good it actually is (as only leah williamson can get me to pull for the lionesses in un-patriotic enthusiasm). seriously, read this book! it’s wonderful!
