It is a nice wooden frame with an aluminum plate and a sheet of clear plastic to allow you to put in a map and use a grease pencil to your hearts content. This one has a leather loop for a writing implement and 2 eyelets for a leather carrying strap. This one also has a sheet of paper for "winkelmessung" which appears to be more modern. I've got probably 10 of these, now. The squeaker fails pretty quickly. But our dog still likes them, just not as much as when they squeak. I'm tossing these a good 75 yards and farther. The Chuckit glowballs make sounds through their holes so no separate squeakers there. Dog really likes those glowballs.
